Introducing Instalimb, Inc.
https://www.instalimb.com/
Today, I’d like to introduce Instalimb Co., Ltd., a company we’ve recently decided to invest in. More importantly, I want to share the inspiring “grand challenge” that deeply resonated with us.
Meeting CEO Tokushima
Our first meeting with CEO Tokushima of Instalimb was one of those rare moments where everything just clicks—you know it’s the real deal. Instalimb is transforming the prosthetics industry by harnessing cutting-edge 3D printing technology and AI. Traditionally, prosthetic limbs have been expensive and time-consuming to produce, making them inaccessible for many people, especially in developing countries.
Instalimb has tackled this problem head-on by offering a solution that combines high quality, affordability, and quick delivery. Their innovations have brought down the cost of prosthetics to less than one-tenth of traditional products while maintaining comparable quality, and they’ve drastically shortened production times. On top of that, they’ve increased the production capacity of each prosthetist by over tenfold, enabling them to reach far more people who previously had no access to prosthetic limbs.
What’s even more impressive is the wealth of data they’ve accumulated from producing thousands of prosthetic limbs. This data is at the heart of their 3D printing-based manufacturing process and gives them a competitive edge that’s incredibly hard for others to replicate.
CEO Tokushima’s passion for his work left a lasting impression on us. His vision goes far beyond simply running a business—it’s rooted in a genuine desire to tackle social issues and make a meaningful impact.
Why We Invested in Instalimb
Our decision to invest in Instalimb was straightforward: the company combines the ability to address critical social challenges with extraordinary growth potential.
The demand for prosthetics is enormous, particularly in developing countries where accessibility has always been limited due to high costs and lengthy production times. Instalimb is disrupting this market by introducing affordable, high-quality prosthetics with quick turnaround times through their innovative use of 3D printing technology.
The company already operates subsidiaries in the Philippines and India, with a proven track record of delivering thousands of prosthetic limbs. Their market share is growing rapidly, and they’ve recently partnered with Jaipur Foot—one of the world’s largest prosthetics NGOs—to install 3D printers in India. Looking ahead, they plan to expand into Ukraine, Indonesia, and Nigeria.
Ukraine is particularly noteworthy due to the sharp rise in demand for prosthetics caused by war-related injuries. Instalimb is actively collaborating with UN projects to provide much-needed support on the ground. It’s initiatives like these that highlight not only their business potential but also their profound social impact. We’re proud to support their mission and are committed to walking alongside them as they grow.
At Libraight Partners, we share Instalimb’s vision of balancing social impact with business growth. We’re excited to support this bold challenge and contribute to making a difference together.
